Saturday October 3rd from 12pm to 8pm at Spring Lake Chapter Izaak Walton League in Hobart Indiana.

4700 W 49th Ave, Hobart, IN 46342.

The league has easy access off of I-65 from 61st Ave or Ridge Road.

This will be a family friendly event with food, bonfire, backyard games, swimming and fishing. The grounds have a private lake (no fishing license is required), so we encourage you and the family to bring fishing poles and enjoy the lake. It’s catch and release for non-league members.

Through a very generous donation from some of the members of the Midwest GMRS Group, we were able to rent out the grounds for the day.  This includes an outdoor shelter and an option to use the hall if weather is not so friendly.

There is no cost to come out and join us.

Pork chops, hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, chips, and some picnic side dishes will be provided. We encourage you to bring your own beverages as we will have very limited options.  The league bar opens at 4 o’clock and will have both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase.

We need a head count in order to purchase enough food for everyone. So, we strongly encourage you to sign up on in the forum, but we will not turn anyone away that shows up last minute. We understand that things change and hope to see you out there.

Tent camping will be available on site for Friday night and Saturday night. Sorry no camper trailers or RV’s. Cost is $10 per night. Please contact AMBER WOOSLEY FOR CAMPING 1-219-406-0903 FOR FEES AND REGISTRATION Also let them know you are part of the Midwest group.

There are plenty of hotels in the area that are less than 15 minutes away. A quick Google search around Merrillville and Hobart will get you what you need.

We will have a temporary repeater onsite connected to the network. Please program your HT’s to 462.575 +5 with PL tone 141.3. You may want to have the talk around option on, so we can chat amongst ourselves and still be able to hear the network to help people find their way in. We should have members on hand to help with programing. I’m sure there will be members looking to sell and buy radios, so bring them out.

We will have some door prizes and/or raffles. Winner must be present to receive your prize or we will pull another ticket.

We do strongly encourage everyone to follow CDC guidelines and practice social distancing.  If you’re unable to do that, please have masks available. If you have any questions please post them in the Midwest GMRS Meet & Greet thread on the forum or reach out to Jay WRCQ487, Buddy WRAX542, Vince WRAL939 or Mike WQVG601

I just want to say thank you to everybody that’s helped with this. I can’t wait to see everyone!
